Over the past months, many Croydon residents told me that while they supported the government’s efforts to tackle the housing crisis, reforms had to improve community amenity and respect heritage.
Last week, the NSW Government announced that the TOD SEPP will not apply for Croydon for 9 months while it works collaboratively with Burwood Council on detailed masterplans for increased housing in the LGA.
Where those agreed plans meet or exceed the governments housing targets, the SEPP will not apply at all.
This is a great outcome for housing supply and the local community.
Thank you to Burwood Council and all the local residents who worked constructively with us towards a good outcome.
